Mr. Blackwell original Vintage Glam Sequin Dress
Sold OutSize Guide
Definitely got that wow!, factor. Straight from Hollywood glamour days designed by Richard Blackwell who created the 10 worst dressed women's list. We dressed our model in gladiator high heels with a riding hat with back veil embellished with faux gemstone spider. Great for costume parties, take off the hat & bring on the steam heat for a glamorous evening wear. The dress is in excellent shape, with very little wear, if any.
Design details; mandarin collar has two hook & eye closures, with keyhole neck, draping traditional kimono sleeves, cut on the bias sequin dress with 20" slit to the knee hemline. Dress has inner slip. The fabric with fan like sequin is stretchy with some give. (see above measurements)
Mr. Blackwell Fashion designer
The name "Mr. Blackwell" came in the late 1950s when he launched his clothing line. As with Valentino, Versace and later Richard Tyler, he and his line became synonymous. He was an important designer and during the 1960s he became the first in history to present his line on a television broadcast, and was the first to make his line available for plus-size women. During the nearly two decade existence of the "House of Blackwell”, he was designer to Yvonne DeCarlo, Jayne Mansfield, Dorothy Lamour, Jane Russell and California first lady Nancy Reagan.
