Welcome Sun Heart Boho Clothing!

Hi! I'm Kristena West the founder of SunHeart Boho Clothing and creative maker of arts.

I've been an artist my entire life. I've been in love with clothing and painting and sewing and doll making and designing products my entire life, but fashion,  when I was young was my passion.

I adored fashion and what design and color in clothing- I helped dress all my friends for special events. I did makeup. Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts forum asked me to be a guest costume artist for many years and I would design my own costumes and I would open my garage which was my "art studio" and invite all my friends in and we would make costumes for a month (glue guns!)and then go to the famous black and orange bash at the Contemporary Arts forum.

In 2004, I got on eBay and started selling art and I sold about 3,000 pieces art.

And that taught me online marketing and because I'm a fabulous thrifter, I found items in Santa Barbara because we have so many movie stars, and I couldn't believe the flood of people buying the clothing!  My business skyrocketed and over a few years, I left the art world and started selling clothing.

I have a two year fashion & merchandising degree and through the loyalty of our customer base, I was able to create my own Bali lines. I designed my own batiks and styles for a marvelous mix and match collection. 

My silk collection is hand-made silk Tunics and jackets. One of my customers wore one of my designs to the Emmys. Then of course... the pandemic hit and that changed not only the world and how the world shopped, but everybody got online and that changed SunHeart.

Today, SunHeart Boho Clothing ©2004-2026 is about surmounting challenges in a positive way. This is a woman-owned business dedicated to empowering women to bring their gifts and goals into the world. 

Now in 2026, I am bringing these two worlds together to offer a complete "two-fer" for the creative woman. I am integrating my lifelong art practice and my decades of experience coaching women directly into the SunHeart brand. This means that while we continue to provide the beautiful, natural fabrics you love to wear, I am also opening the doors to my professional mentoring and art classes.

I am focused on helping you dress the part and live the part of a confident, creative creator. Whether I am helping you curate your own body of work or providing the coaching tools I have refined since the 90s, the goal is the same: to empower you to bring your unique gifts into the world. We are growing into a vibrant hub where fashion meets soul-work, and I am right here to guide you through every step of your creative journey.
